Editorial Policy
This policy exists so readers can tell who is responsible for NudgeWell’s explanations, how commercial relationships are handled, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Who writes for NudgeWell
NudgeWell’s Founder & Editor is accountable for the editorial direction of this site and approves the publication of policy, benefits, and care-navigation material. Contributors may bring experience in benefits administration, health navigation, consumer research, or service design. A contributor’s background is described when it is material to a piece; we do not imply a clinical or legal credential that a writer does not hold.
Contributors receive a specific brief, the intended reader and decision context, and the boundaries of what the piece may claim. The editor checks source links, dates, calculations, and wording that could be mistaken for individualized advice. Material pieces are fact-checked and reviewed before publication, and updates go through the same factual check. A contributor can draft; the editor remains responsible for what ships.
What we publish—and what we decline
We publish practical explanations of benefits, healthcare navigation, cost questions, and small actions that can help a reader use an available resource. A useful page should tell the reader what the claim is based on, where uncertainty remains, and what to verify with a plan, provider, pharmacy, or licensed professional.
- Sponsored material is not presented as independent editorial. A commercial relationship is labeled where a reader encounters it.
- AI may help with research organization or a draft, but we do not ship AI-only pieces without human review, source checking, and editorial approval.
- Affiliate relationships are disclosed in plain language in the page experience, not hidden in a distant legal page.
- We do not repost third-party content without substantial original framing, analysis, and attribution.
Editorial judgment is independent of revenue. Compensation cannot buy inclusion, a higher ranking, a positive review, or a claim that our checks do not support. We can choose not to publish when a source is weak, a promise is unsafe, or a topic cannot be explained responsibly.
Affiliate links and recommendations
When a page contains an affiliate link, the disclosure appears before or alongside the first relevant link and may appear again near a recommendation when context could be lost. Our plain-language disclosure is: “Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you use one, NudgeWell may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That does not change our editorial judgment.”
A commission never buys ranking, inclusion, or a favorable review. We screen a partner for a clear price, useful service, credible claims, accessible terms, and a workable cancellation or refund path. See the methodology for the partner-vetting process and what we screen out.
Corrections and updates
We correct factual, date, source, or material wording errors when we learn about them. The page records the changed date and a short change note. Ordinary freshness updates—such as a refreshed source or a changed link—should preserve the original meaning; a change in meaning is treated as a substantive revision and explained.
To flag an error, email support@nudgewell.net with the subject line “Editorial correction” and the page URL, passage, and source that prompted your note. For general questions, use our contact page.
Education, medical advice, and legal advice
NudgeWell provides general education and benefits-navigation context. It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, legal advice, insurance determinations, or representation. Cost examples and benefit explanations are starting points for questions—not a substitute for a licensed clinician, attorney, insurer, or plan document.
When we offer a warm handoff to a licensed advocate for an appeal, that is a referral and an educational boundary. It does not guarantee an outcome, and it does not mean NudgeWell or the advocate has taken over the reader’s case. Readers should rely on their own licensed clinician, attorney, insurer, or advocate for advice about their circumstances.
